All voters need to know that progressive champion Congressman Danny Davis has always shown up for West and South Side families. Davis’ record of service and his influential position in Congress make him uniquely effective as he combats the urgent problems we face right now, like public safety and gun violence, the rising cost of living, and the threats to our civil and reproductive rights.

 

All voters across the district need to read and see that Rep. Davis has been a progressive champion throughout his career and to this day:

• Fought to protect voting rights and co-sponsored the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act

• Stood firmly for women’s rights, voting and co-sponsoring the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act and Women’s Health Protection Act, with a 2022 Planned Parenthood endorsement.

• Lowered the cost of living, by capping the cost of life-saving medicines like insulin, and cracking down on corporate profiteering by big oil companies

• repeatedly to get illegal guns off of our streets, with an F from the NRA

 

Black voters need to read and see that Congressman Davis is a proven, effective and passionate legislator in Washington. He has taken action to bring down health care and prescription drug costs, supporting Medicare for All and capping the cost of insulin at $35 a month. He has been a leader in protecting our civil rights and expanding the right to vote. Like so many of us, Congressman Davis’ family has been affected by gun violence. That’s why he is working right now to get guns off of our streets by going after gun traffickers, raising the age to buy assault weapons and expanding red flag laws, just this month.

 

Progressive women need to read and see that Congressman Davis has always been a fierce advocate for women’s rights, and he is endorsed by Planned Parenthood, Senator Duckworth and Speaker Nancy Pelosi because he never wavers. Davis is working right now to protect abortion access, co-sponsoring and proudly voting for the bill to codify Roe v. Wade. He has also voted and co-sponsored the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act.
